Abrikosovs residential house
Ask any passerby how to get to the Abrikosovsky House, and no doubt they will gladly help you. After all, this is one of the attractions of the central part
The history of the Abrikosovs residential building with administrative premises (as it is listed in the register of architectural monuments in Moscow) dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. It was built on land purchased back in 1879 by the A. AND. Abrikosov and Sons”, headed by Alexey Ivanovich Abrikosov, the grandson of the founder of the dynasty of Moscow confectioners, Stepan Nikolaev, who came to Moscow from the Russian countryside to work.
The house is interesting because it was designed by Schnaubert in 1905 and built in the Art Nouveau style, it fits perfectly into its modern surroundings. And also by the fact that the modern confectionery industry was born here: the founder of the family was engaged in the production of confectionery products (he especially succeeded in apricot marshmallow, which gave his surname the whole family after serf Stepan Nikolaev received a free one). After the revolution, the factory was renamed Babaevskaya in honor of the famous Moscow Bolshevik Pyotr Babaev.
