MAXXI Museum

The MAXXI (Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI secolo) is Italy's first national museum dedicated to contemporary art and architecture, designed by the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid. Inaugurated in 2010, the museum is located in the Flaminio district of Rome, on the site of the former Montello military barracks. Hadid's distinctive style features dramatic curves and flowing lines, making MAXXI itself a stunning architectural work of art.

The museum showcases a wide range of contemporary creative disciplines, including art, architecture, photography, fashion, and design. The collection includes pieces by prominent artists such as Anish Kapoor, Sol LeWitt, and Maurizio Mochetti. Exhibitions are frequently rotated, ensuring that visitors always find something new. The museum also hosts experimental productions, live events, and educational activities, making it a vibrant cultural hub.

MAXXI's spacious galleries are designed to provide an immersive experience for visitors, with exhibitions ranging from architectural archives to experimental installations. The museum also features a library, an auditorium, and a bookshop. In addition to its permanent collections, MAXXI hosts a series of temporary exhibitions and cultural events, highlighting the dynamism and diversity of 21st-century creativity.
