Violin Square of Andrey Petrov

A very original park has been lost on Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt. Lovely sculptures in the form of various violins are scattered throughout its square — a woman violin or an apple violin. There are seven in all, and each of them is an imperishable symbol of the eternal music that will always exist.

The square was almost built up in the 1990-2000s. However, local residents rebelled against this decision and asked for help from famous people. They planted a young tree in order to save the park. Among them was the composer Andrey Petrov, after whom the park was later named.

In 2008, the place was reopened after reconstruction — since then everyone can touch the music with their own hands.
