Malaya Konyushennaya was destined to become the first pedestrian street in St. Petersburg. This happened in 1997. The project for its arrangement belonged to the chief artist of the city Felix Romanovsky. It was planned that the street would become a ceremonial approach to the future entertainment center on the well-known Konyushennaya Square, but construction did not begin.

Now it is a pleasure to walk along Malaya Konyushennaya Street and see the monuments. Closer to Nevsky, in the same 1997, [a monument to Nikolai Vasilyevich Gogol] appeared (https://kudago.com/spb/place/pamyatnik-gogolyu-na-maloj-konyushennoj/), and at the opposite end it was installed monument to the St. Petersburg city policeman. Many people find it similar to director Nikita Mikhalkov, but it is not known whether such an idea was. In the center of the street there is a unique clock that shows not only the time, but also atmospheric pressure and air temperature.

In addition, you can visit the famous writer's house on Malaya Konyushennaya Street. The street's literary past cannot but affect its present: festivals, concerts and book fairs are regularly held here.
