Each building on Kamenny Island is unique, and this house is no exception. Its style is defined as either eclecticism or modern, although in fact Russian modernism is thoroughly eclectic, this is part of its uniqueness.

But not the point: the ground floor of the house is built of stone, the second floor and a rather high turret are wooden. The roof of the tower is pointed, with a spire, the porch with a wide door with a beautiful visor looks no less original. Although the cottage is small by local standards, but very nice. Now it houses the children's art school named after B. M. Kustodieva.

The author of this building is the architect Konstantin Preys, and the customer is Princess Maria Kugusheva. By the way, she took an active part in the development of the design of her future home, and it is the princess, for example, that the house owes elements of the Russian style.
