Durnovo dacha

Architecturally, **Durnovo's dacha** is a typical example of early classicism with its inherent ancient features. According to eyewitness accounts that have survived to this day, at the beginning of the 19th century, the building looked more like a [palace] (http://kudago.com/search/?q=%D0%B4%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%86&location=spb&type=place) than a country cottage. Particular beauty of the estate was given by the landscaped [park] (http://kudago.com/spb/attractions/parks/) in the English style with many sculptures, a decorative pond, winding paths and cozy gazebos.

The current state of the once chic noble nest is very deplorable. The building, which belonged to the Leningrad Metal Plant during the 20th century, survived several fires and was repeatedly rebuilt, but due to the fact that the work was not brought to its logical of completion, it gradually collapsed. In March 2014, at the initiative of the city authorities, work was again begun on the reconstruction of the Durnovo dacha and the improvement of the adjacent territory.
