Parc Floral de Paris
Parc Floral de Paris, located in the Bois de Vincennes, is one of Paris's largest green spaces, covering 31 hectares. It was created in 1969 by the landscape architect Daniel Collin to host the 3rd International Floralies and has since evolved into a beloved botanical garden that offers cultural and recreational activities for all ages. The park is home to 14 different plant collections, including a renowned dahlia garden with over 400 varieties, a Japanese garden, and a Valley of Flowers featuring seasonal floral displays.
Visitors can also explore thematic areas like the Evolution Trail, which takes guests through 500 million years of plant evolution, from mosses and ferns to flowering plants. The park also boasts a Pine Grove and sculptures, including works by artists such as François Stahly and Oleg Goudcoff. Seasonal events, such as the Paris Jazz Festival and the classical music event 'Classique au Vert,' are held at the park, adding to its cultural charm.
The park features a wide range of facilities, including playgrounds, mini-golf, and a greenhouse that houses tropical plants. Visitors can also find the Maison de la Nature, a space for environmental education, and enjoy concerts at the Delta space. During the summer, the Pestacles, a children’s festival, offers a range of activities and performances. The park is ideal for families looking for a mix of nature, culture, and fun.
