The monument was erected in March 2004, in honor of the 150th anniversary of Ivan Turgenev's story, a story over which many children's tears were shed. The artistic director of the project Lev Nemirovsky proposed to consider this day as the Day of Repentance before the smaller brothers who have ever suffered from human hands.

“In memory of the DOG” - these are the words engraved on the commemorative plaque. Now the dog, waiting for the owner, has become an unspoken symbol of the cafe “2Mu”. The sculpture was prepared by Aram Arevikyan.
