Kuznetsky Most Street runs from Bolshaya Dmitrovka to Bolshaya Lubyanka and is located inside the Boulevard Ring of Moscow. In the middle of the 18th century, according to the project of architect Ukhtomsky, a powerful stone three-span bridge was built across the Neglinnaya River instead of a wooden bridge at that time, 16 meters wide and almost 30 meters long meters. It was planned to turn the river into a city canal, and dig a pond on Trubnaya Square. However, everything turned out differently: a narrow river was enclosed in an underground pipe and covered with soil to raise the level of the streets, so that the stone structures of the bridge were underground. Since there was originally a bridge over the river, it was given the same name when laying the street.

Until 1917, Kuznetsky Most was the main shopping street of the capital: it housed fashion stores, book ruins, photo studios, popular gambling venues and restaurants. The fashionable street was built up with mansions and estates, which are now recognized as cultural monuments. Kuznetsky Most is often mentioned in literature and even has its own legends. According to legend, ghosts live on this street. According to one legend, the ghost of model Zhuju wanders there, who suffocates newspaper peddlers with her stocking. Another ghost is an elusive cab driver who waits for players outside the casino and takes them to another world.

In December 2012, part of Kuznetsky Most Street became pedestrian. It is still home to many shops, cafes and public places.
