The Trinity Tower was built from 1495 to 1499 and was led by Italian architect Aleviz Fryazin (real name Aloysio Da Carezano), who made a huge contribution to the construction of many Kremlin structures. With the construction of the Trinity Tower, the construction of fortifications adjacent to the Neglinnaya River was completed. At the end of the 17th century, the structure of the tower was supplemented by a high tent, as well as chimes, which were damaged during the hostilities on the territory of Moscow in 1812. Towards the end of the 19th century, the tower building was reconstructed, and some of the ancient details of the structure were lost.

The Trinity Tower has six floors and two basements, in which the prison functioned in the 16th and 17th centuries. All floors are connected to each other thanks to a system of stairs located along the perimeter of the entire structure. In the upper part of the building there is an octagon, in which there is a through observation room. The octagon is crowned with a tall, slender hipped top. The tower's rich decor consists of pointed arches and decorative towers located in the corners of the parapets. It should be noted that hundreds of years ago, the Trinity Tower had an even more elegant appearance, as its archer also had a decorative design.
