The garden, located near the southern wall and descending to the Moscow River, got its name from the Tainitskaya Tower. Initially, on the territory of the garden there was the Annunciation Church with Zhitny Dvor, destroyed in the early 30s, and the Constantino-Eleninsky Church, which was also destroyed in 1928, and in its place until In the 60s, they arranged Christmas trees for children. In 1967, a monument to Lenin was erected in the Tainitsky Garden, which was dismantled in 1995.

Nowadays, the Tainitsky Garden is closed to visitors. The reason for this is unclear, given that in the middle of the last century, festivities near the New Year tree took place here. Excavations are regularly carried out on the territory of the garden, during which archaeologists discover the remains of wooden houses, household items and other things of historical value.

Tainitsky Garden is a picturesque place planted not only with conifers, but also with fruit trees. Foreign delegations arriving in Russia often walk here, and during his visit to Moscow, Libyan leader Gaddafi lived in a tent, which, at his request, was installed here. The Taynitsky Garden is included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
