At the end of the XVII century, Peter I's sister Sophia unsuccessfully organized a riot against her brother, the rightful heir to the throne. In documents that have survived to this day, Sophia is described as an extremely intelligent and energetic person, whose positive qualities were subject to an all-consuming thirst for power. A 40-year-old woman was forced to spend many years in captivity, and her energy literally permeated the stone walls of the tower, which have since had inexplicable power.

There is another explanation for the magical power of the Naprudnaya Tower. In 1920, the Bolsheviks who seized power arrived at the monastery to close it and seize all valuables.
