Novospassky Monastery Square

The history of this park is quite simple: the monastery had a system of ponds in the 18th century. Gradually, only one pond remained, which was named after Novospassky. During the Soviet era, the terrible name of the NKVD was associated with the monastery: it housed an archive. Nobody touched the park, but at the beginning of the 21st century it had to be restored.

They renewed the lawns, planted flowers, added markings on the asphalt for runners - and life began to rage in the park. Those who are going for a walk around can sit by the walls of the monastery, in the shade, or go out into the open area. The only thing they complain about in the park of the Novospassky Monastery is the lack of benches, so it is best to take a litter and a loaf of bread with you — for ducks and pigeons. Judging by the number of fishermen on the banks of the pond lined with concrete, there is a lot to catch. By spring, you can meet newlyweds processions in the park: they come to take pictures near the water surface and take colorful memorable pictures. The situation in the park is not very good with lanterns either: they are not enough. You can even find dragonflies on the territory of the park, which is an absolutely extraordinary story for the center of Moscow. Those who come with a camera will also have a place to roam in the park: beautiful landscapes, views of the monastery and the hotel nearby are provided. The park is also perfect for those who came to hunt for colorful sunsets.

Here you can lie down on the lawn, feed the ducks by the pond, bask in the sun slowly and listen to the silence.

The square here is not big at all, but there is enough space and comfort for everyone. You will get a full rest. This park is open around the clock and is located very close to the metro. Unfortunately, this does not save it from the fact that you can stumble upon noisy picnics with alcohol at any time of the day. But if you want to distance yourself from the noise of the street, go closer to the walls of the monastery and look at the calm water surface, over which fishermen throw fishing rods every now and then, catch it for dinner or lunch, or just for sports interest.
