The phenomenon of temporary seasonal employment has a long history, and there is even a monument to a guest worker in the capital. The marble pedestal was erected on this site in 1929, and the author of this sculpture, originally conceived as a monument to a seasonal worker, is Ivan Shadr. It was he who created the composition “Cobblestone — Weapon of the Proletariat”, installed in the [Park of the December Uprising] (http://kudago.com/msk/place/park-dekabrskogo-vosstaniya/). However, the seasonal worker of the famous master of socialist realism looks more like an ancient Greek philosopher — a meaningful face, a thoughtful look, full concentration...
