Several million tourists a year invariably visit the most famous sights of the Russian capital — the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Mausoleum and many others. But if you are bored with camera flashes and words of admiring surprise in all languages of the world, go for a walk along the embankments of the Moscow River. Of course, they cannot compete with the same Red Square in their popularity, but a walk along the embankments of the Russian capital can be an ideal pastime if you bored with the “official” sights.

Presnenskaya Embankment is located in the city center. Until 2007, it was called Krasnopresnenskaya in memory of the revolutionary events of 1905, but now it has been returned to its historical name, consonant with the name of the village of Presnya, which has existed in this area for time immemorial.

Presnenskaya Embankment starts from Testovskaya Street and ends, passing to Smolenskaya Embankment. The nearest metro stations are Vystavochnaya and Mezhdun The first mention of it dates back to the 70s of the XVIII century.

Alas, the area on which the embankment is located is by no means replete with ancient architectural monuments, and therefore, first of all, it is recommended to visit this place for those who are interested in modern architecture and design. On the site of the quarries once located here, a fantastic architectural complex with huge towers of various heights and configurations has grown. Among them, there is one of the tallest buildings in Europe — the Federation Complex, consisting of two skyscrapers connected by passages. The height of this structure reaches 506 meters. This entire complex is called the Moscow International Business Center “Moscow City”.

On an area of 100 hectares, there are numerous apartments, offices and recreation areas for businessmen and members of the government. These unusual “buildings of the future” are led across the river by a bridge that is very consistent with their modern design: this miracle made of glass and concrete is called the “Bagration pedestrian bridge”. It consists of two levels, the lower gallery is fully glazed, the upper one is partially glazed. There is also an observation deck here. The author of the bridge and the MIBC project is the same — the famous Russian architect Boris Ivanovich Tkhor.
