An amazing monument of Russian culture, erected by decree of Princess Elizaveta Fedorovna, is made in the Old Russian style. Ancient Novgorod-Pskov churches served as a model for its construction. Its main feature is the interior design, which uses paintings by the famous artist M.V. Nesterov. Artist P.D. Korin and sculptor S.T. Konenkov also took part in the design. Its bell towers have a memorable sound, they were tuned to the manner of those installed in Rostov cathedrals.

The cathedral's history is very eventful. More than 100 years have passed since its foundation, its walls have seen a lot, and how people are coming to it 100 years ago. This is not surprising, because it is located on the territory of the Marfo-Mariinsky Convent, which since its foundation has been engaged in charity work and helping patients. There is a shelter for orphans on its territory. There is always an atmosphere of love and trust here.

Since 1995, the cathedral has been an object of cultural heritage.
