Krasnogvardeisky Ponds is a historical part of the Krasnaya Presnya Park. The reservoirs were created back in the 18th century, when the park area was part of the Studenets estate, which belonged to the princes Gagarin. In those years, the cascade of ponds and the canal system in the park area of the estate were so picturesque, which the princely possessions called "Russian Venice".

In the era of the USSR, the park passed into the possession of the state, and the area around the ponds was partially built up, so the green zone narrowed to the size of a boulevard, and the banks of the ponds were strengthened with concrete walls. did not bring, and for a long time they remained a place where it was not worth going at night.

Major improvement of the park began in 2016-2017.The green area around the ponds was expanded and divided into five thematic zones.This makes it possible to visit those parts of the park, which correspond to the interests of guests, and do not overlap with other categories of vacationers.

The territory of the park is eight hectares, and almost half of this area is occupied by water bodies. The ponds, connected by a system of channels, are located one behind the other, so the green zone has an elongated shape. There are walking and cycling paths along the park. The Secret Garden walking route is a picturesque alley, the section from the Zvenigorod highway to the Upper Pond is a family-friendly park. There are treehouses for school children, sandboxes for toddlers, swings, ping-pong tables and a pavilion for playing in bad weather. Near the pond there are flower beds and tubs with plants, and on the water there are houses for wild ducks. The park has become a good place to immerse yourself in the world of nature, contemplate and meditate.

The central part of the park between the Upper and Middle Ponds is decorated in the tradition of classic regular parks. Here is a monument to a revolutionary worker, surrounded by flower beds and benches, a pavilion for chess lovers, a closed area for walking and exercising with dogs. The middle pond is the most romantic place in the park. There are cozy pavilions for lovers, where you can sit right above the water surface, and in the evenings, decorative lights are lit on the slopes descending into the pond.

The lower pond is separated from the general park ensemble by the Shmitov Passage. Near the reservoir there is a boat station, an amphitheater and decks where you can sunbathe. The park also has a yoga pavilion, workout grounds and a cafe. From the observation deck of the Lower Pond (opposite Mantulinskaya, 24) a photogenic view of Moscow City opens up. Various circles and sections work in the Krasnogvardeisky Ponds. For representatives of the older generation, within the framework of the Moscow Longevity program, Nordic walking classes are held, and for young people - workout workouts. It also hosts yoga classes and meditation practices, as well as creative workshops for children.
