monument to “Playwrights”

The idea of creating a monument was not implemented for a long time, although they began to talk about it in the late 90s. Only in March 2007, at the initiative of Oleg Tabakov, a sculptural composition for three playwrights, whose plays are still relevant and are performed in many theaters throughout the country, was installed in Moscow. Then its opening in the courtyard of the Tabakerka Theater was timed to coincide with the International Theater Day. The authors of the project were Albert Charkin, Rector of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, and Ivan Sayt, Director of the Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve.

The composition of three separate adjacent sculptures will be able to be seen by every viewer who comes to the performance in the Snuffbox.

Address: st. Chaplygin, 1A
