I.L.Ding's mansion

Mansion of I. L. Dinga was built at the beginning of the 20th century The Art Nouveau style just came into fashion at that time. The mansion was built by architect A. M. Kalmykov said. On the facade there are three majolica panels depicting landscapes, and the sharp-top roof ends with a needle spire on which a weather vane dangles, and on it is the coat of arms of the city of Moscow.

The fence grid is made in the form of a branch with a leaf.

Johann Leonard Ding, the owner of this building, came to Moscow from Hamburg to establish the first pasta factory in the capital in 1883. It was located in Zamoskvorechye, but later it was decided to expand production, and in 1900 Ding purchased a plot near the Rybinka River. The factory was built of bricks, and the mansion was supposed to become an office with it. But the architect's office failed, but a mansion of amazing beauty came out, and the German instantly settled here. The pasta business went well. The First World War cut short the prosperity of the company. Herr Ding could not put up with Moscow's negative attitude towards all Germans, so he went home to Hamburg, and sold the factory.

After the revolution, the enterprise became state-owned, and since 1993, Extra M pasta, the heirs of the old German factory, appeared on the market.
