Novopushkinsky fountain

Novopushkinsky Square itself was laid out shortly before the opening of the fountain in it — in the late 1970s, after the old residential quarter was demolished nearby. Officially named Novopushkinsky, the new fountain soon acquired several more names, the most common of which is “Tverskaya” (this name, apparently, is due to the fact that it was built in at the very end of Tverskoy Boulevard).

A few years after installation, the fountain was reconstructed and the design of the water jets was modified. Now the Novopushkinsky Fountain is made in the form of a bowl, along the circumference of which jets of water are thrown upwards, connecting in a ring in the center. It is surrounded by flower beds and is surrounded by comfortable benches.

The fountain is open on weekdays from 9:00am to 10:00pm, and on holidays and weekends until midnight. Novopushkinsky enjoys well-deserved popularity among Muscovites, who often spend their free time here.
