Milyutinsky Garden

In Khokhlovsky Lane there is a building in which scribe books of the XVII century were kept. Since 1754, the building housed the Land Survey Chancellery, which owned a garden on Pokrovsky Boulevard. The garden is closed, it was possible to get there through the courtyard of the office Anton Chekhov, Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin and many other famous people remember the paths of the garden. On the territory of the garden there is an outbuilding that belonged to Savva Morozov. Isaac Levitan spent the last years of his life there.

Milyutinsky Garden was closed until 1917, but after the October Revolution the situation changed. In 1932, it was named after the revolutionary Milyutin, and a gate was built to enter it. In Soviet times, dances, mass games, theatrical performances and film screenings were held here. Since 1936, a children's park has been turned into a kindergarten.

The garden is also famous for the fact that it was here that the first children's camps began, and in 1990 the Center for Aesthetic Education of Children was opened. In 2000-2001, the park was temporarily closed: during the reconstruction, 12 trees, 224 shrubs were planted here, a lawn and flower beds were laid out, figured concrete slabs were laid out, a fountain was installed and sites were installed for roller skates.

At the same time, a wooden house was built, where the administration of the center, children's studios and sections are located — for example, you can enroll your child here for paper crafts courses or karate classes. For a long time, the park was not closed at night, but since students used it for gatherings more often, they decided to close the garden: it is open until 21:00 and is guarded.

There is only one way out here, the huge gates of the times of the USSR are used in its pure form as a decoration, and you will not be able to enter the city through them The gate itself is slowly becoming unusable.

Why is this tiny park interesting? First of all, the magical atmosphere. This is a corner of peace and quiet. The small park is ideal for children: be sure to come here with the whole family. Among the locals, the garden received the gentle nickname “Milyutka”.
