Such tasks were set by the founders of this fairly young cultural center in Moscow. Representatives of the Christian Educational Center in the Name of Saints Cyril and Methodius, headquartered in Minsk, worked on its creation. The center was also co-founded by the Catholic charitable organization Caritas and the Catholic Foundation Christian Russia.

The main form of work of the center is the organization of joint scientific and theological events of various formats, public contacts between thinkers of different faiths, educational activities, as well as the launch of new books. All these events are aimed at popularizing Christian culture.

It is symbolic that the Pokrovskie Vorota cultural center is located in the estate house of the Botkin family on Pokrovka Street, where in the second half of the 19th century a gallery of paintings by Western European artists was located. So we can assume that the traditions of cultural cooperation here began 150 years ago.
