Krasnaya Presnya Park

In 1790, it was a manor house that belonged to Princes Gagarin. At that time, the park was still a country estate. Until 1790, the entire Krasnaya Presnya district was under the jurisdiction of the boyars - their country cottages were located here, and the very name of the district came from the fresh (and once healing) water in the Studenets well. The manor had a long and rather confusing history: it changed hands, from one owner to another. Architects were also involved in the development of the park — according to the drawings of the past, they recreated the main gate of the park.

By the beginning of the 21st century, Krasnaya Presnya Park looked something like this: the legacy left over from the USSR in the face of the obligatory monument to Lenin, Dutch ponds, and a decayed estate. Few people remember that Afisha Picnic was held here until 2006.

The park has preserved the Oktogon water pump fountain, which at one time was decorated with lion faces, from which everyone could draw spring water. But both lion faces and monuments to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War were lost.

Previously, the park was known only to mothers and locals who came here for a walk. If you ask a Muscovite where Krasnaya Presnya Park is located, he will think for a few minutes, and then ask if he means a zoo. But local residents know the park very well: wiped between the building of the International Trade Center and the Expocenter, it is used by office workers as a place for an afternoon walk.

The park has all the conditions for active recreation. There are two playgrounds for children, a football field with artificial turf that does not care at any time of the year, exercise equipment and a workout area, playgrounds for kicker games and table battles tennis. For fans of extreme sports, there is a skate plaza and a streetball court. There are free dance workshops, an open-air cinema, and bicycles can be rented. In winter, the park has two ice rinks: with artificial and natural ice.

And most of all, I am pleased with the fact that every weekend something new and interesting takes place in the park: master classes, exhibitions and much more. The park also participates in the Night at the Museum program.
