Ivanovskaya Gorka

Ivanovskaya Gorka is a kind of architectural reserve. Excursions are held here for both Muscovites themselves and guests of the capital, and students of art schools conduct practical classes.

Strictly speaking, Ivanovskaya Gorka is not the hill itself, but only a part of it — a steep descent to the Moscow River. The whole hill is called Sretensky. The territory of the slide is limited by Solyanka and Lubyanka, Pokrovka and Maroseyka, Yauzsky and Pokrovsky Boulevards. All the alleys that connect these streets are pedestrian. There are also a lot of green areas, so it is very pleasant to walk in these places.

Almost all churches and monasteries that existed before the revolution have been preserved on Ivanovskaya Gorka. This area is so picturesque that the count of the films that were shot here has long been lost. It is known that Sergei Eisenstein himself began this tradition, who worked here on the scenes of the film “Strike”.

This is where you need to go to feel the real spirit of Moscow. This is the very “historical center”, the Moscow for which people from all over the world come. A piece of clue to the mysterious Russian soul, Russian longing and Russian expanse.
