Heroes of Krylov's fables

Ivan Andreevich Krylov wrote more than two hundred fables. But only a few have survived in the memory of the people, but firmly. We can even see their heroes immortalized in bronze.

In the center of Moscow, in the park on [Patriarch's Ponds] (https://kudago.com/msk/place/patriarshie-prudy/), there is an original sculptural ensemble, in the center of which Ivan Andreevich himself is located on a bench, also bonze, and next to the bronze pages of his books there are figures of familiar cuckoo and rooster, crow and fox, donkey, goat and clubfoot bear, along with a prankster monkey. In general, a complete collection of heroes of twelve Krylov fables.

They have been here since 1976 thanks to the efforts of sculptors A. A. Drevina and D. YU. Mitlyansky and architect A. G. Chaltykyan. During Krylov's lifetime, his heroes did not allow many to sleep peacefully: something scratched in their souls, what if this was written about me? And now these funny parodies of people do not go unnoticed. They say that in the nineties, something was constantly done with sculptures. For some time, the elephant was white, someone from the locals regularly painted it, and one of the birds had its head torn off more than once, after which it was welded back each time.

Now citizens have become more superstitious: according to popular belief, if you rub one of the heroes, your wish will come true. The rubbed places shine like new. Little Pug is especially loved by the people - it shines all over. Apparently, this image of an immortal fabulist is especially close to our contemporaries.
