This house was built by order of the Moscow mayor Tarasov in the 19th century. The house was repeatedly sold and received new owners who rebuilt and built on the premises.

In the late 30s of the XX century, Lavrenty Beria, People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union, settled here. Today, Beria's house has acquired many dark legends, which makes it one of the most interesting mystical places in the capital. Some legends say that even before Lavrenty Pavlovich moved into this house, executions of those objectionable to the regime were regularly carried out in the basement. A significant role in the hoax belongs to Beria himself, to whose apartment attractive women were often brought, whose fate is covered with the darkness of uncertainty. In addition, there are references to the fact that torture instruments were found in the basement during the renovation of the building.

The television program “Battle of Psychics” was filmed in Beria's house. Participants with supernatural abilities were taken to the basement of the famous building with their faces covered, and after a certain time they were asked to convey their feelings. All psychics kept saying that they felt the “vibes of fear” that permeated everything around them, and some even saw the vague outlines of frightened girls to death.
