The apartment building in Romanov Lane was built at the end of the XIX century. Before that, it housed a mansion where composer Arsensky worked. The house is decorated in the Baroque style, using elements of the Renaissance era. A cast-iron fountain was installed in the yard.
Before the revolution, luminaries of medicine and law, as well as artists of the Bolshoi Theater, lived here. After the revolution, an English intelligence officer lived, and during the Soviet era, the house was chosen by politicians. Trotsky, who was expelled from the Kremlin, temporarily lived here. And now artist Alexander Shilov lives in this house.
