Tsar's Tower of the Moscow Kremlin

This small structure (only 16 meters) was built in the 80s of the 17th century. According to legend, in the old days there was a small wooden turret in its place, resembling a fabulous house. Ivan the Terrible liked to sit in it, watching what was happening on Red Square and the ceremonies near Lobny Mesto. Hence the name of the tower — Tsarskaya.

Since the tower never performed defensive functions, it was almost never destroyed. This allowed it to maintain its original appearance to this day. However, like other towers of the Kremlin, it was restored after the war, and today it plays the role of a real favorite of tourists. With its elegant, toy-popular appearance, the turret immediately attracts attention, noticeably standing out against the background of other buildings.
