Looking at this house, you can hardly guess that this elegant building is actually an ordinary standard Soviet development project. The house is built of concrete blocks, but there is one important difference: grilles created according to sketches by graphic artist Favorsky.

Due to its unusual color (the desired color was obtained at the factory where the dye was added), simple concrete resembles smoky gray marble. The layout of the house is made in the form of the letter P, but there is only one entrance.

The sophistication of the interior decoration is not repeated in the interior of the house. It was intended for the people and was not elite, but the author of the project Andrey Burov managed to achieve the illusion of the former, noble appearance. By the way, the official name of the building is Burov House.

The construction was completed in 1940, but the war did not allow happy Soviet newlyweds to settle here. Two or three families were hastily assigned to the apartments at once, and bomb shelters were set up in the basements of the house.
