Humpback bridge
The bridge was built in the middle of the 17th century and was named Nizhny Presnensky. In 1806, a public garden was opened near the bridge, on the Presnensky ponds. The bridge was lined with white stone and decorated with lanterns.
In 1905, workers built barricades near the bridge, and fierce battles took place between Schmidt squads and government troops for an approach to the Prokhorovskaya Manufactory and the Schmidt Factory. With the advent of Soviet power, the crossing was renamed the Bridge named after 1905. By the seventies of the XX century, the bridge was in a very neglected state. But for the Olympic Games-80, it was restored. The bridge has become an architectural monument.
In the nineties of the last century, miners gathered on the bridge and knocked on it with helmets in protest against non-payment of wages and general dissatisfaction with life. The Humpback Bridge is located next to the Government House, so it was destined to see armed clashes in 1991 and 1993, as well as various protest rallies of the political opposition deceived investors and others.
Now the old Presnya channel, over which the bridge was laid, is no longer there. But it's always nice to walk here, take pictures, dream or chat heart to heart.
