Pryanichnikov house

Pryanichnikov's house stands on the corner of Vladimirsky Prospekt and Grafskaya Street. The small building was built in 1839 in a strict classicism style.

The apartment, which Fedor Mikhailovich rented together with his brother Andrey, was located on the second floor of the house. After Andrei Dostoevsky changed his place of residence in 1842, Dr. Riesenkampf became the writer's neighbor.

Riesenkampf's patients, whom he received right in the apartment, often entered into a conversation with Fedor Mikhailovich. They were mostly people from the poorest strata of society. Communicating with them, the writer discovered a completely [different Petersburg] (http://kudago.com/spb/list/peterburg-dostoevskogo/) — with its attics, basements and other attributes of the life of the poor. Years later, Dostoevsky in one of his works will note that communication with Dr. Riesenkampf's patients had a huge impact on him as a writer and became his “vision on the Neva”.
