The composition of the monument contains Sholokhov himself, who is sitting in a boat, and on both sides of the writer there are horse heads peeking out of the water. The heads of horses symbolize the “red” and “white” that existed during the Civil War. The monument shows how difficult it was for the writer and many others in a difficult and dangerous time, when battles were constantly fought.

From the monument, there are diagonal paths on both sides that approach the bench, which, according to the architect, symbolizes the work of the great writer, which is still appreciated.
